PINCH DATURAS FOR BUSHINESS?

In the past I have gotten potted starts from others, and they were branched. I grew my own this year, set them out a little late, and now many of them are about 18' tall, single stem. They are growing strongly. Will they naturally branch anyway, or would a terminal pinch help, since they don't yet have flower buds?
