QuickZip vs. BestCrypt....who prefers which and why?

Hi all.

I'm looking into a freeware archiver to lock some of my files away from the prying eyes of children and employees. Can you Computer-type Mavens please shed some light on which of these programs would be best? Or tell me about a better one? I have XP Home verson. I'm a NON-Computer-Type....artist-type person so please speak in laymans terms! Thanks for your help. Whatever would "non-techies" like myself do without Computer mavens like you?
