I still have Kennebec and Dark Red Norland seed potatoes. Is it too late to plant them in the Indianapolis area?
Midwest potatoes
I'd have to say, "yes" to the Kennebec. It takes about four months to mature, and that's really pushing the first frost in Indianapolis. Plus, it's pretty hot now, and potatoes really prefer cooler weather to produce tubers. Dark Red Norland I have no experience with, so it's probably best not to comment.
I have a few well sprouted Red Pontiac spuds from last year that I hope to get into the ground this week. Even if I don't get any potatoes the will make green manure I hope.
