Powder Springs, GA(Zone 7b)

If you ever go to Thailand, do visit the Queen Sirikit Botanic Gardens in Chiang Mai. Here are a few pictures from the fern house a week ago.

One end of the house. Note the nepenthes growing vertically. An oscillating fan with misting sprayers sprays a fine fog continually.

A large bird's nest fern at the hotel in Pattaya. While there, visit the Nong Nooch Tropic Gardens.

As muggy as it was there, I wonder why they needed to mist at all. It's actually hotter in GA (mid 90's to 100) than it was there (mid 80's to low 90's) but no where near the humidity. It felt like Cancun or S. FL. which can be very muggy. Anyway it must be perfect weather for orchids because they were everywhere.

Wow on the maidenhair photo. What is the green stuff that looks like selaginella on that bowl looking thing.

And I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE! Nice field of begonias there!! If only we could grow them like a ground cover!!

Love that second staghorn type! Neat-O! Thanks Butch!
