This morning I found what looks to be a turtle in my garden. Is it a turtle, and will it do harm? I have had lots of burrowing in the flower beds lately. Can anyone help me with a little info?

The Turtle (?) I found this morning is about 6 inches across. I found it in the vegetable garden.
Think it is just a misplaced friend or foe?

Turtles aren't usually a pest - I don't think that you are supposed to kill them anyway. Do you have a picture? It would help.
