Heavens Gate Coreopsis

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I planted 2 of these this spring. I love the the color but am finding strong wind or hard rains beat it down and not looking so pretty splayed out. Does anyone else have this plant and problem? Will it get better when the plant is better established? Should I but in a more protected area? I love this with my Big Sky Series Echinacea!!

Thanks for any help or advice on this.

I have the same problem..I put a ring around them now..even if it's in a protected area it still flops over without a support..

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I have the same problem with a coreopsis I inherited. I don't know the cultivar, but it looks a bit like Moonbeam. I use a grow through support early in the season. It looks kind of stupid early on, but like with my shasta daisies, you don't see it when the plant fills out.

My coreopsis starts out looking pretty and before long they look unruly. This year hardly any came back up.
