Running An Incubator in the Heat of Summer

Smithville, Canada

I'm wanting to incubate some eggs that I hope are 'fertile' from my 'new' rooster. It is very very warm up here right now. I've just started 'warming' up the incubator to get it set to put the eggs in, but the humidity is high in the house - no A/C - so of course the incubator's H is reading high also. Will this be a problem?

i wouldn't add water to the incubator. just dry run, with the humidity it will be fine. when they start hatching if they look a bit dry i would add water then.

I've had the incubator running now for about 1 hour and the H has gone down to 54 so if it stays there that will be the perfect H for the first 18 days. I'll have to see if it goes down any further. I've only run the incubator once before and that was in May so I haven't had any experience with doing it in the heat of summer. Last time I run the Inc. for a day or so before putting eggs in, to make sure the H was correct. So with the different conditions, I'll need to figure it out again.
