Historic Iris - which can happily tolerate some shade?

Brewster, MA(Zone 6b)

I'm looking to identify/find TG historic irises that are happy with/tolerate six or .less hours of sun per day/ Thoughts?

Deer River, MN(Zone 3b)

I don't know of any TBs that will bloom reliably with less than 6 hrs of direct sunlight a day. Most of my irises are planted in a bed that barely gets 6 hrs of sun a day, and I only have a handful that will bloom every year out of the hundred or so TBs planted there. I can't think of any of my named historics in that bed that are reliable bloomers, though there are some unknown historics back there that do bloom reliably every year.

Some historics that do well for me in part shade are
Anitra
Indian Chief (I think this one would grow anywhere)
Argus Phesant (Currently growing well under holly tree and happy)
Chocolate Daddy (a weed)
Golden Alps
Copper Strike
Abbey Road
After the Storm
Almaden
Arkansas Girl
Autumn Circus
Autumn Tryst
Back in Black
Bells of Amhurst
Black Fantasy
Black Tornado
Blackware
Broadway
Butterfingers
Christine Elizabeth
Colette Thurillet
Come What May
Competitive Edge
Different Design
Double Charm
Double Scoop
Edith Wolford
English Cottage
Fashion Passion
Gallent Moments
Ginger Swirl
God's Handiwork
Helen McGregor
Hobo Heaven
Homecoming Queen
Juan Valdez
Monologue
Pinkness
Samurai Warrior
Sarah's Laughter
Second Look
Shepherd's Delight
Spartan
Spinning Wheel
Superstition
Tudor Ruffles
Vanity
White City
Concord Velvet

All of these grow in a partial shade area that gets mostly afternoon sun only. Some do not increase well and some do not bloom every year and some thrive. This is my ignore bed when Iris do not do well and bloom in the good beds they are religated to the ignore bed and that is just what I do. They might get early fertilization adn grub treatment and after that they are on their own. I usually have a spectacular show from this bed every year.

Wow. Thanks.

With what do you fertilize? And de-grub?

There is a gerneric Bloom Booster at Home Depot that is 5-50-10 or 5-38-8
both are great the granuals I put one the last snow fall with lime which dilutes it and moves it quickly into the soil. The powder form I use wioth seedlings, transplants and trama plants at 25% of strength for seedlings and 50% for others this works great for heat stressed plants shipped during the summer I pot them and treat them with the 25% first then after putting in the ground thay get a shot of 50%.

For grub and borer control I use two products. Bayer Advance Season Long Grub control with Merit(r) which I put on the end of March sooner if it gets warm usually a week or two after the lime and fertilizer.

Then about mid May I put on
Triazicide and broad spectrum insect control helps with other pest and gets some emerging japanese beetles before they are adults and also helps with borers and wire worms which can do more damage.

end of august I reapply the Bayer to get any hatching white grubs.
at the same time I have a compost bin so I add compost tea to all beds, the ignore bed gets the dregs if anything left. LOL
