Thanx all you oil-for-earwigs people, I put out oil to "catch" earwigs, and all I GOT was a GREASY garden, lol. I am going back to the tried and true chemicals!!! Cant say I did not try it, :( This is one of three I put out, and got ZILCH in ANY of them, :((

Greasy Garden
If you want to catch earwigs, the way I've heard you do it is take a rolled up newspaper, wet it, and put it near where you're finding them, do this in the evening and in the morning you should have a bunch of them inside the newspaper and you just throw it out. Never heard of using oil to trap them.
Well, Blue, I'm so proud of you to try something like that out. Really! I read the same post, but can't remember where. You put oil (which kind?) in a pan, and the earwigs hopped in by the dozens to take a little midnight swim. Was that on your slug thread? Have to go look....
