Can anyone recommend a 3 to 5 foot tree that would resemble

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

i am trying to find something to put in this space ....i used a softward generated tree that had red blossums leafs....and my brain said .....a crepe myrtle...but i found out that a crepe myrtle will not bloom on only 3 hours of sun a day....so does anyone have any ideas......?? thanks:)

I would consider one of the dwarf Clethras like 'Hummingbird'. Takes shade and smells great for an extended time. Other possibility is one of the smaller hydrangeas - either mophead or oakleak.
