Every year I get stung once or twice by fireants. Yesterday I got the first stings of the summer...two on a toe. It seems that each year my reaction becomes more severe. Two stings by this tiny pest have caused a red spot about an inch wide on top of my foot; and at the time of the attack, it itched up my shin almost to my knee. When I got stung this time, it really hurt, itched, and burned more than ever before. The sensation was so generalized I didn't know which toe had been stung. Since my reaction seems to become progressively worse, I'm wondering if this is something I should worry about as time goes on.
