Is there a better way to get these little seeds on their way?
When should I plant seeds?
What medium should I plant them in?
Do they need cover for first few weeks for humidity?
Do they need shade? Heat? Darkness?
How long before they germinate? Then what? Can they stay outside over winter the first year?
I've been trying to find some answers, but my two books and these forums do not mention it.
Would appreciate any experiences you have had!

How do I Start Japanese Maple Seeds?
ACER PALMATUM
If sowing seeds in fall outdoors, sow seed in a mulch bed and cover the seed approx. 2 times the thickness of the seed with mulch. Shade seeds when seeds start to sprout in the spring to avoid sunburn. When sowing seeds in the spring you must stratify the seed first by placing seed in moist sand for 21 days. Remove seeds after 21 days and sow either directly in pots or in beds.
