Iris Spacings

I have read 4 sqr foot for TB, but what about the others (MDB,SDB,IB)?

It depends on the effect you want in the garden and how often you want to have to divide your iris clumps. As a rule, 2' spacings between TBs, BBs, IBs, and MTBs works well if you want to be able to wait 3-4 yrs to divide, though some cultivars are so vigorous that you may end up dividing individual clumps more frequently.

MDBs and SDBs can generally be planted at 1' spacings to accommodate several years' worth of growth.

Colquhoun - please listen to Laurie. I didn't know any better when I planted this unreal number of Iris I got at a yard sale and boy do I have a mess.
