My house had a flat, "popcorn" ceiling, vinyl floor with cuts galore, scratched white Formica countertops, orange cabinets, one florescent lighting strip, and ancient appliances. My DH allowed me to design everything from scratch since we gutted the room, and this is the result. I tried to do what I call "elemental modern."
