That "prune job baby" approached almost the same size as the mother plant within 2 - 3 years and I found a good home for that one too.

I have two staghorn ferns, in an east-facing window. Seem to be doing well, but the inner part seems to turn brown although the rest looks fine. My daughter has one in a slightly brighter window location, and has had some trouble with it burning, so moved it.

I have a staghorn fern What is the best way to transplant it and what is the best way to care for it, it was a gift and I don't want to kill it

I have a very large P. bifurcatum basket hanging in an oak tree. I put it in a basket around 1950. I am sure that metal basket is gone but the fern is huge. When I find the jpg I will post it. In the meantime look at my Platycerium willinckii at:
