Dauntless!

I have an old iris that came with the house that looked similar to 3 or 4 that Laurie had photos of, including Dauntless. She mentioned that Dauntless was an early red with PBF, and that could be a marker for it. Bingo! It is not flamboyantly PBF, but definately washed with violet.
Definately gives it a little more status, maybe I will start treating it to a little more attention...

Most PBF is not striking. I would not consider DAUNTLESS' pbf a strong PBF.
As long as there is a shadow of it, then it gets that designation.
Seems like most iris do not have it, so if any iris carries even a little is noteworthy.
