Me and my little girls picked our first squash of the year and boy were they good. My wife told me if I fixed any after she went to bed to wake her up. LOL I didn't but was tempted. Check out the picture.
God Bless,
Keith
First squash of the year
Nice Straightnecks. If you know the cultivar, it would make a nice addition to plantfiles.
Oh how exciting! :)
I have teeny tiny crookneck squash on my plants. Only one male flower has opened though, and none of the female, so all I can do at this point is hope and drool over yours.
Farmerdill thanks for the comment it made me feel good that you thought the picture would be good enough for the plant files. Will admit I am still learning about cultivator's and names for plants. The marker from the nursery only says
yellow straightneck. Wish it said more.
God Bless,
Keith
If it tasted good, most likely the open pollinated Early Prolific Straightneck. Nurserys normally name thier hybrids as the seed is expensive. They run in the cheap seeds as generics.
