At the top of some of my iris are a pod like thing. These ones have finished blooming and the pods look strange. Someone has told me iris have seeds is this true?

Seed pods?
Yes. If you are not interested in starting Iris from seeds, then you should pluck them out. This will force the vigor back into the rhizome. Iris from seed do not produce true to the parent plant.
But fun to see what you get
