We got a Sunburst Honey Locust this spring and planted it in a back berm. The berm was sopping wet when we planted, but we had just had a bunch of rain and we had been watering excessively due to the fact that we had overseeded the yard.
However, I noticed that the bed is *still* very wet even though we aren't watering as much. The locust seems to be doing fine, but I don't know if it will make it in wet soil. We can move it, but it will be a pain in the butt. If we have to, we have to, though.
Can this tree tolerate wet feet?
Honey Locust for wet spot?
They grow naturally in floodplain forests. As long as it doesn't stay soggy all summer long you should be OK.
