New clematis
So happy with this large flowered one full of buds.
Here's an overview.
Very pretty! That's not one that you see very often. Are you growing it in semi-shade so that it doesn't fade?

It's in full sun. This is it's first day open so it may fade.
Oooohhhh!!! Now I see what mine will look like when it grows up!!! Beautiful boojum!! Mine have a little shade, but are very small still.

I usually find small flowered plants very elegant, but the blooms are just huge on this Alabast and it works so well because I can see it from the diningroom 100 feet away in the very back of the garden.
See it way in the back in the middle? BTW, the show to the right up there is sib China Spring.

Gosh. Just saw a Ramona in a nursery with blooms as big as alabast. Might just be a great year for clematis!
