like how old will they be before they start to lay

Hi JazBradley, Please tell me how you can tell which are male and which are female! Mine are still young 9 weeks, and are fully "feathered" but unlike my other chicks they do not seem to have any Waddles or Combs just "Hair".
I only have two babies, one White and one Buff!
