Slugs on Tomatillos

Harper, TX(Zone 8a)

I have some beige with yellow ( heads or tails) slugs on my tomatillo plants. I have tried a garlic soap spray this am but am not sure if it is working. Picked them off by hand(Yuck)and put them in my buried tuna cans with a yeast mixture in it. Other bugs are being caught by the yeast mix but not the slugs. Anyone out there have a organic spray cure. Thanks Txdar

I like the beer and oranges post in the link. Sounds like a Hefenweiser to me. My tomatillos grow so fast that I could probably breed slugs on them without noticing. You can also try diatomacious earth sprinkled around the base of the plants. You need to reapply after rains I believe.

I have a major slug problem here and I've been using SLUGGO, which is safe for plants and animals. It needs to be spread every couple of weeks, after a good rain and it does the trick. The slugs here have been devouring my basil and I handpicked a few and put them in soapy water, but the SLUGGO really does the trick for the whole backyard as well as around the vegetable garden.

Another vote for Sluggo from me.

It stops slugs from going in to your plant area and so all you have to do is to get rid of the ones there.
