Dax, Linda_IA and I ran to a concrete ornament place in the morning with Alwaysweeding. She ran back hone to CR to , guess what, weed while we spent the afternoon at the Dubuque Arboretum.
This place has an amzing collection of perennials and is totally manned by dedicated volunteers.
Dax(Becky) wanted to see the huge hosta collection.
Linda enjoyed the shade of the protective arbors.
The Arbiretum has a fascinating collection of garden styles. Here is a formal garden.
Becky and Linda are sitting by the huge waterfall that flows into the pond of a Japanese style sunken garden. This is a favorite spot for Senior and Wedding portraits.
Armies of volunteers were working in the various areas. This is an herb garden.
The peony collections were coming into bloom with a variety of shapes & colors.

Just got back from visiting Wanda's Garden. What a wonderful beautiful sight.She is such a wonderful talented gifited and gracious person We are so happy to have joined DG, and have made so many new friends.Wanda is the DGer that invited me to join the Iowa group and invited us to the Round Up. I look forward to learning all I can from all of the DG family and meet even more new friends.We also ran into more IA members that we had met at the picnic including Poho,Llilyfan,andAlwaysweeding with Llilyfans DH. I look forward to help dig when she sends me the time and date. Dick

Looks like you all had a great time. I must get to more Arboretums and Botanical Gardens,,,they are all just lovely.
I like to look at the way other people arrance flower beds. And look for more compaion perennials for my iris/daylily collections.
I loved the lupines growing at the garden. I always manage to kill mine...
