pests or disease?

My squash vines are growing squash with small lumps around it. I've been plucking them and throwing them away. Does anyone know what causes this?

My basil plant also has small holes in the lower leaves and when I read walter reeves' book it said to pluck those leaves and keep the good ones. But It still happens.

I also have a japanese aralia which has some yellow stuff growing on the bottom of its leaves and killing the older leaves.

Can anyone help?

Try spraying some soap on them.
