Dicentra scandens "Yellow Bleeding-Hearts Vine"

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Look at this little beauty! I have it in my hodge podge bed, that is what I call me west side vine fence where I removed the Thunbergia Grandiflora's last year because they were too aggressive for that area. I just stuck in all my leftovers, there are snail vines, raspberry smoothie thunbergia, a couple of clematis, some unknowns, you get the idea. LOL The snail vine is blooming right now and its a wall of purple out there. As I was sitting there watering the bed, I am looking at them all and I see a hint of yellow! I hop up and look, and there it was! It was one that Lisamr got at Annie's on one of our trips and then did not have a place for so sent it to my house. THANKS LISA!!! :~) I am so excited, I love the dicentra's but it is so hot here that they always fry. I looked it up at annies site and it is supposed to be hardy to zone 10, so hopefully this is not just a one-time-wonder.

I love it. I did not know there was a yellow one. I have managed to keep the white & red one alive here in the desert. I have it in a pot. I also planted one in the shade this year to see if I could keep it alive over the summer.

Beautiful! I love the yellow one! I've been keeping my out for one Marie, but I think to get one here we'll have to order online. I've gotten the seeds twice and no luck with those :-)
