Hardy in PA but from Japan

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

A couple years ago, I got an Arisaerum sikokianum and planted it in a shady spot in front of the house. Today, it's sporting 3 plants & 3 blooms & very lovely. Here's a picture.

Very nice! The black really adds something doesn't it? Always nice to see someone try something different.

Just discovered it's not A. sikokianum but the common Jack, A. triphyllum. Aw shucks.

Buttoneer....be very happy it's the native Jack. You liked it when you thought it was something exotic.....it still looks like a handsome plant to me! Enjoy. The exotic arums can become a nightmare when planted here.

I do love it. And I am so happy it is spreading. Thanks so much.

They reseed all over...you will have plenty. They are just as exotic looking a sikokianum..just more common.

A. triphyllum can be a weed up here. Somehow it recently .got into the woods at my parent's where I grew up. It is seeding so quickly that I am starting an eradication program.

Sikokianum can be grown in the right places here in zone 4a too.
