Inexpensive night lights for your porch, garden area...

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

A great second hand store treasure several weeks ago has been sitting
in a box waiting for just the right idea to strike.

And today it did just that.

Our front porch rails are nothing fancy, so I am free
to paint them, drill them, do away with them if I want
to, hubby doesn't mind. One day we'll have a nicer
porch, but until then, this will work just fine. :-)

I found well more than a dozen different glass votive
cups, the kind with the little stump on the bottom designed
to fit into those metal or iron candle holders from Home
Interior years ago. Using a paddle bit, I drilled a hole in the
wooden porch railing, and inserted the candle cup with the
stump into the hole. Add a tea light candle and wa-la...
porch lights!

They were put on the bottom rail because I often sit on or
lean on the top rail while hubby is on the swing on the opposite
side of the porch.

Ten cents each, can't beat that! I just so happened to find
an equal share of red, yellow and green votive cups in varied
patterns. Quite cute, and even nicer looking as it gets dark.

Easier to see in the enlarged view of the photo.
