Soil for raised beds

Anybody have a forumla for a good soil mixture to go into a raised bed?..Judy

I'm glad you asked.

We're about ready to make our first raised bed in an empty lot next to our yard. Tough weeds and grass so we don't want to dig the sod up this time to make a new bed. We plan to put layers of newspaper on top of the sod, but I'd like to know what to fill it with too.
