Ivy was planted along a chain link fence between my back yard and that of my neighbor's. It is so invasive throughout ALL my garden now, I would like to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Pull...pull and pull. We are in the proccess of getting rid of alot of ivy and have found that the only way is the hard way. We have cut it at the bottom of trees it has climbed and it now looks terrible and probably will for several years but it's a start.
