Lovely picture,
Aren't these related to Trillium?

Is there any special source that you prefer for ordering your woodland plants?

http://www.waysidegardens.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=0&langId=-1&mainPage=LGprodview&ItemId=8609&PrevMainPage=textsearchresults&scChannel=Text%20Search&SearchText=paris&OfferCode=T3H

Galanthophile,I also love this plant! I tried a couple of times Paris quadrifolia,
but didn't succeed. That was still in my beginning years as a gardener, so I should try it again, but it is hard to find one for sale.
But that Paris japonica is really unique! It must make a beautiful (black?) berry after flowering.

I wish it was my plant!

Very interesting and original plant!

I ordered a Paris polyphylla from Wayside Gardens as a bulb. It never came up. I haven't had any luck with bulbs or bareroots yet so I don't know if it was something I did wrong. I also got an Oriental Chain Fern, Woodwardia orientalis, from them at the same time. It made it through the summer and even started to grow some during the fall but hasn't come back. Upon further research, I found Wayside was the only place to rate it in my zone, everywhere else has rated it zone 8 or higher. So when I get a chance, I'll rate them negative in the garden watchdog.

Zonedenial, did you mean it wasn't too tough to grow, or is it not very durable as a plant? I'm so fascinated by this one I'm almost willing to try it again even if I have to order it from Wayside again. I'll just try to get a few pointers on planting bulbs this time.

It's not too tough to grow (though grows slowly, like a trillium).
