Weekend Plans

Cumberland, RI

It's that time of season! To plant or not to plant, that is the question. It's tough deciding on spending the entire weekend working in the gardens or whether to trek off to one or both of the various weekend activities/plant sales. These will all be firsts for me assuming I can make them all.

Saturday - Blythwold is having it's Garden Antiques and Specialty Plant Sale on Saturday 10-4 ($15 per person, ouch, that's one less plant in the garden).

Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford is having a plant sale this weekend. I'm going with a friend even though I still have 2 of the 6 yards of humus to move around the yard. I haven't ever been to Bartlett - so I don't know what their sale will be like but I am hoping for some poppies to plant among the daffodils to cover up the fading greenery.

That's a lot of humus!

Yeah. a big dump truck pulled up and dumped it out on my driveway. I have the pile all covered up so that the rain doesn't turn it into mud. You should see how quick weeds grow in this stuff! :(

I hate when they do that. Did you get the license plate? ;)

Darn! I knew I forgot something. :)

Danbury, CT(Zone 6a)

YankeeCat- I just looked at the Bartlett Arboretum website and it says the plant sale was last weekend, May 13. :( I got all excited for a minute. Boo hoo.

I am always getting places too late. There is a tag and plant sale this weekend at a church on route 25 just before Bethel coming from Bridgeport. (I work in Danbury.) I guess I will be content with the plant sale at the green in Fairfield. Sigh. OHH - went by the church this morning and the plant sale sign is gone. Probably was last week, too.

Oh well. Sounds like me. A day late and a dollar short.
