Wren abanoned nest?

Keller, TX(Zone 7b)

We have a couple of bluebird boxes but we have some trees near by so we had a wren come build a nest. Wouldn't you know as soon as that happened we got our first bluebird visitor.

The wren layed two eggs before the bluebird started coming around. Well now I haven't seen the wren in days and the eggs have been somewhat covered up.

How long before I assume the nest is abandoned? It's been a week with no new eggs. If it's abandoned it's OK to remove it right?
