My sago palm is getting closer and closer to opening its bloom. I have located a male cone whch should ripen about the same time as my sago blooms. Once it makes seeds, I plan to donate them to the botanical gardens for their annual fund raiser plant sale. I'll let the Master Gardeners over there deal with babying the sagos to a point that they can sell the babies... I can't wait for the bloom to open. All my life I have had plants...and it has only been since I moved here that I started getting unusual plants...first a banana tree that blooms the first Spring I am here, now a Sago also blooming the first year I am here. I hope these are good omens.
