I went to the nursery just to look and once again another clematis jumped into my cart. This time it is Clematis integrifolia "Caerulea". Bushy Blue Bell. Do any of ya grow this? It says full sun but should I give it shade in the afternoon? I planned to treat it like the vine types...TIA...Lauri

Lauri...not thinking I am a Clematis Guru by any means..I am only growing about 60 to date...I will say this..when they say full sun..they are really talking about people more up north than us.....Our summers sun is more intense and hotter than our Northern gardening buds......I would plant where it gets a good 6 hours of sun in the morning and shaded from the hot afternoon sun or you will have a faded clematis and more stressed..remember to plant it 2-4 inches deeper with some nice compost and bonemeal in the hole and remember water..water...water...as they like their roots to stay moist...Jeanne
