Beautiful photos and gardens, Llilyfan!

Elkhart, IA(Zone 5a)

Sue! I love that best bet! Is it really that blue?

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Sort of! It has a purple tone to the falls that my camera doesnt see outside, and neither do I! It really is a beautiful iris and it is HUGE also.

Here is 'Tidal Wave' from my good buddy Iowaron.

They are all pretty! Why is Barn Dance infamous??? Tidal Wave is so pretty for a simple colored one.

I had been promising Wanda one for 2 years and every time I went to dig it was putting up flower stalks. So this spring I finally dug her some and didn't worry whether or not it had stalks coming on. It is a fabulous rebloomer for me.

Infamous only to me and Wanda I guess!

Picture of my back yard this morning...mostly darker iris...my DH's passion!

Good Morning Sue,
I love your Iris pictures, and especially the overall picture of your back yard. You must have been on your rooftop for that one! :-)
Great Iris, Wonderful pictures, Thanks for sharing.
Ron

Wow! Your back yard is stunning!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Really enjoying the show, Sue. What else ya got? Keep 'em coming!

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Thank you all for the nice comments about the iris and my gardens.

Ron, I wasn't actually ON the roof, I was hanging out the second story window! I need to get a picture after the shadows are gone.

I am trying to find the tags, but these iris have overgrown their space and I think they have buried the tags beneath their roots! As soon as I figure out who some more of these are I'll post more pics.

Of course..................................I know that there are other lovely iris blooming in this great country of ours and I wouldn't be against seeing them!:-) hint, hint, hint!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Well, I have a thread up here http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/595517/ if you're interested.

Elkhart, IA(Zone 5a)

Beautiful pictures! Sue, you've done alot since the last time I was there! I think this deserves another tour! Hint, hint, hint!

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Sure a lot of hint'n goin on here!

mgh, loved your thread! Looks like Now and Later has settled in well for you. Has she rebloomed for you yet or is it her first blooms this spring? Absolutely LOVE French Horn.

Beve, You know you are always welcome!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Now and Later didn't bloom last spring, but it tried to bloom in the fall. Some teenagers were walking by and one pushed the other into my flowerbed and broke the stalk off. :o( I really enjoyed the blooms this spring though......I'm sure it will bloom again in the fall.

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Okay! I found more tags so..................
Let me introduce you to the "Earl of Essex"

Wanda, blessed my garden with this bold orange iris. It is JUST what I had been looking for! It isn't possible to turn your back on this iris, you have to look at it!

In dramatic contrast to the vibrancy of the one above this soft violet cloud will also make you take a second look.

'Anxious'

I'm feeling Anxious about that picture........ ;)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Me too!

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh No, I'm so sorry! I'll try again.......

I know that our iris blooming is quite a 'Momentous Occassion' and so is this iris! I already posted it on the Space Agers thread, but it is so awesome it bears a repeat performance.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks for posting all of these and sharing them. I just went out in the garden today and cut off a whole lot of stalks that had bloomed themselves out. The glorious season is about at an end. But now we have those midwest and eastern gardens to enjoy.

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

I hope I don't make you feel 'Urgent' with this lovely beauty who defies description!

Here's one who must be extremely shy, she has only one bloom way down in the foliage.

'Chickasaw Sue' been waiting for her for 4 years!

And my last one for now.

'Bumblebee Delight' it is just so cute with all its big cousins.

Hi, lilyfan - Just beautiful!! Mine are just in bloom, too, but they are all just babies compared to yours, Wandas, and Linda's. - I asked about the "Out of this World" ones on your other thread - huh??? Dax

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

They're all beauties, llilyfan!

Doss, I did the same thing yesterday. It seems like we wait so long to see them and then, just like that, they are all done. :o(

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

That's what makes them so special. Now if we could just have ever-blooming irises and lilies... sigh!

McGregor, IA(Zone 4b)

Oh it wouldn't be nearly as exciting if they were everbloomers!
Love "Pretender"!!!
Sharon

Lafayette, IN(Zone 5a)

llilyfan--seems you have a lot of 'emotion' in your iris garden! lol, love your pics so keep'em comin'!

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

I think we would lose our excitement over them if they bloomed for long periods of time. This way we are forced to fill our gardens with many different plants to have that year 'round color.

Not so much 'emotion' in this batch, but just as lovely:
