I have a rhody that is a pale pink. Was given to me as a gift, I have no name. But the fragrance is so wonderful, like a daphne. And its growing very fast and covered with flowers for over a month. Does anyone have any idea of the name it may be? I really want to get some more. The best one I have ever seen and I don't know what it is...

There are probably over 100 Rhododendron's that have strong fragrance. The species Rhododendron R. Fortunei and its hybrids are probably the most likely of the big leaf (elepidote) rhododendrons. Of the smaller leaf rhododendron's Ruth Lyons is a likely candidate

It could also be one of the Loderi group of Rhody's and it's quite difficult to tell some of them apart. Typically if you like the Loderi's, you'll also like Fortunei since it is a parent of the others. If you really want a match to the one that you mentioned, you might try emailing a picture of it or taking a branch to Greer Gardens (www.greergardens.com) since they are not too terribly far from you and Rhody's are one of their specialties. But, I would bet that if you posted a picture that we could at least narrow it down for you! redchic
