A Cascading Petunia that turned into a Science Project.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

About 4 years ago I hung a basket of Cascading Petunias on a post in my garden. After it quit blooming I forgot about it. The following Spring, some color on the post reminded me it was there. The darn thing had died back completely and come back. Yes from seeds but also new growth on old stems! It is now in its 4th year of ressurrection. I have done absolutely nothing to it, it is horribly pot bound and only gets watered.

It has turned into a science project to see how long a severely neglected plant can survive! Anyone else have die hards like this petunia?

Lucky you. We have a few withered looking pansies that made it through the (unusually mild this year) winter, but we have perennials every year that don't come back up here in the frozen north!
