Transplanting Bell Peppers

Elgin, TX(Zone 8b)

I purchased some Bell Pepper Plants that are about 8-10 inches tall and currently in 4" pots. At the garden center they advised me to plant them each into a 5 gallon container instead of gradually repotting them into larger pots as their roots grow. Is this a good idea?

Thanks,

Plant them into whatever container you plan to grow them in for the season now. There's no reason to keep putting them into larger & larger pots. Personally I'd put more than one in each 5 gallon pot but I'm probably growing much differently than you are.

You only transplant tomatos into larger and larger pots to develop a better root system but not peppers.
