Fluxs in weather temps and settling in will do that to them. I've got many new ones who's blooms are down on the ground. But it's nice to see that there are some that made it through your lagoon last year.

after our hot ,cold ,no rain here ,
we have short stalks ,
low bud count , no bloom ,
bloom only staying open one day .
Bad year for Iris in Oklahoma

Well... I felt like swearing off them last summer. We had sooo much rain that my newbies were rotting in pots. I am thrilled to have just a few blooms this year and some of them new. I know how you feel Tazzy...our weather has been funky this year too...

It's finally cleared up here. Have faith. Last year I had a lot of very short blooms but this year even with the rain, they've gotten better. It's a beautiful flower even if it is short.
