What is that squiggly white mark on my tomato plant leaves? Is this a disease or bug of some sort?
Thanks for your help
Tomato Plants
Leaf miner. There is a little fly that lays an egg on the underside of the tomato leaf. The larva buries into the leaf tissue and "mines" it then exits the leaf and pupates into a fly. It will take a systemic to kill them while inside the leaf, or something like Avid which can penetrate the leaf tissue but I wouldn't recommend either on a vegetable plant. On my tomatoes I just leave them alone. I guess you could pick off the infested leaves, seal them in a baggie and toss them in the trash(or just burn them).
Sorry I'm so late in replying to your response. Thank you very much, I think I'll just pick the leaves off and put them in a ziplock.
