Garden in Full Swing Fast

Hagerstown, MD(Zone 6a)

My irises are blooming earlier this year. Many of them all at once, so I was unprepared to post them as dailies. I will post a few at a time, all under this thread beginning. I dislike the month of August because of all the plantings, but it makes Spring a happier time when I see all the newbies in the garden. I missed a few blooms like SOLAR MAX, AWAKE and a few others due to camera malfunction. Here's my favorite photographed newbie so far, SPOT OF TEA.

Spot of Tea is gorgeous! Reminds me of milk chocolate.

Thanks so much. I just love the SDB and since they don't really grow here this is the only opportunity I have to really see them. They are little jewels.

Today I have one of each bearded class in bloom. MDB, IB, SDB, BB, and TB. I tried to get my bloom periods for each class varied last year. I poured over the catalogs and websites to find very early blooms (VE) to very late (VL). I hope Towering Finale and others like it will be having a bloom this year.

Hi Roni-

Good to see your post. With all the new ones you got last year, I expect to see lots of pictures in the next few weeks.......

Neil

Yorkshire,

All of your irises are beautiful. I've added Spot of Tea and Little Black Belt to my (ever growing) wish list.
Thank you for sharing your pictures.

My Little Black Belt turned out to be Auroralita (probably). As much as I like Auroralita, I would like to find the real LBB to add to my collection, as well. I also have been coveting Music. I'll have to get my hands on that one, too.

Let's see, does the law of supply & demand work as well here as it does at the gas pumps? LOL...

Neil, Ziggy's got a bud! Will let you know more when it opens.

Here's a few more. Gnu Generation SDB/BC.

Last of the MDB for this season. I missed BLUE DOLL with the camera but the reblooming ROYAL MAROON managed to survive severe temperature changes as did GRAPELET.

I see my wish list is going to be growing again. Some of those first ones are so unusual, at least from my viewpoint. Who is your supplier?

Hagerstown, MD(Zone 6a)

Let's see, last year I had numerous trade plus ordered from Blue J Iris, Winterberry Gardens, Snowpeak, Malevil, Fred Kerr, and some from the Lily Auction.

This year I want to get...well I'll start another thread for that informtion. GRIN.

Deer River, MN(Zone 3b)

I very much like Rainbow Rim. I've never seen that one before. Quite nice!
