Germinating Moonflower seeds!

North Olmsted, OH

It is recommended that I nick them with a sharp knife.Should I just break the surface barely or should I dig in and really nick them deep to see a bit of the inside or will I kill the seed.

I use a clippers and cut into them just a little - then soak them in warm water for at least 24 hrs. - they swell up - then stick them in dirt.

Hello Mkelgo,

Honestly, you don't have to nick or cut them, just make sure you soak them for
24 hours, then keep your seed bed nice and moist, preferably in the full sun.

Mine are about an inch tall now, having planted them two weeks ago. I'm
so excited this year, because in the past I've always tossed them about where
I fail to water. This year they are right next to the water supply, so they will
receive a lot of attention.

Wuvie is so correct! Soak them and plant in some dirt, keep warm and watered and transplant when they pop up. Don't wait too long after the 1st set of true leaves appear to transplant
