re: Lemmon Chiffon, how is that attached to the tree? beautiful! all beautiful
WOw..everything looks so gorgeous..your blue clematis looks like Clematis "H.F.Young" and your bi-colored can't be from the same vine?..huh?..Kewl..Jeanne
Jeanne,
Only planted the one vine in that spot three years ago it was very small one of those in a box from the big WM. The odd bloom stumps me as I don't even have that one growing anywhere so it's not from seed.

Wow! What beauties!! Seems so weird for me to see clematis blooming. My spring blooming clematis is just putting out leaves.

The Lemon Chiffon is attached with garden twine and a few small u nails.
Those are beautiful, how do you get blooms so early in zone 6a we are lucky if our's bloom befor the middle of summer.
Kareoke,
Were We live here in Mountains we have our on little Microclimate. I know it sounds crazy but go 20 miles from here and the leaves on the tree are just know stating to put out as here they are all ready in full swing. Also though both the Clemtis in the pictures are group A which means the bloom on the old wood. With a warm winter and early spring they have no problem putting on a early show.
Great looking, Gary! Sorry I may not get there while they are still in bloom.
How old is your "Claire de Lune"?..This is year two for mine....Jeanne
Oh my, your Claire is a beauty!!
Jeanne it's in it's fourth spring .
Gorgeous blooms on Claire de Lune! Please add it to Plant Files, if you haven't done so already.
Lovely flowers on Lemon Chiffon too! Hopefully, mine will flower for me this year!
That is SO strange to see a different Clematis growing among your blue ones!!! Do you have these pink strip Clematis anywhere else in your garden??? Could a seed from another flowering Clematis have been carried by a bird, dropped, sprouted, and produced another colored Clematis??? If you remember where you purchased this vine, perhaps ask the company you bought it from. I'm just as baffled as you are, but very pretty none-the-less!
Shirley,
Thanks for stopping by. No Striped Clematis here other than the flower on the HF Young.
It is very strange. I guess it could be from a bird, but I'm the only Clematis freak here on the mountain so it would have had to come from far away!!LOL. Claire is already in the plant files.
Gary
Gary,
You've got mail.
Most likely, two different Clematis vines were planted, by mistake, in the same container at the nursery.....it happens.
thanks shirley for all you help.
Gary
