Would peonies do ok in containers? how about in zone 5 (in containers?)

Is there a reason why you want to keep them in containers? Peonies do best in the ground, but I would think that if you had a large enough container you could grow it in there for a few years...

I have a patio space that we use a lot. The spots that peonies might do well is in the back, where people rarely go... so I thought it would be nice to have them where they could be seen and appreciated.
Go buy yourself some cheapo's at Wallyworld and pot them up and try it... What can it hurt? :)
