I STARTED MY RADISHES INSIDE THIS YEAR..AT WHAT POINT SHOULD THEY GO IN THE GARDEN?

Root crops don't always transplant well, at least in my experience, and radishes grow so quickly that I've always planted them outside. So I'm guessing that you should experiment a bit. Set out a few as soon as they have a set of true leaves, watch them a couple of days, and if they have adapted well with a minimum of wilting, then set out the rest. Radishes in this climate mature very quickly. The globe types start becoming pithy after a month, and Daikon types can start becoming woody after about six weeks. Yuska

Hi Gang:

I'm in zone 4 and I planted my radishes directly in the ground two weeks ago just after the ground became "workable".

Those plants laugh at the cold. It was -4 (celcius) last night and the radishes suffered no ill effects.
