Rich - are you there? Question about Raven - Zucchini

Sunnyvale, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi Rich,

I remember you were growing Raven last year. I believe this cultivar was supposed to be compact? How did you like it? Were they productive? Did you like the taste?

Thanks!

Yes I did tmm99, 3 plants in an EB. Compared to many others the plant was compact although for summer squash compact is sort of relative. They produced very well and picked at 6-8" had a very small seed cavity. Flavor was very good but again keep in mind that I eat most all my summer squash sliced & sauteed in olive oil and garlic (a lot of garlic) which tends to take over most of the flavor.

Thank you very much Rich! I ordered the seeds last year when you told me about it. I have the seeds germinating right now but I thought I'd ask how they fared for you. My summer squash plants last year grew too big and too long,. I had to stake them everywhere, so look forward to how Raven works out for me. If you could do 3 Raven's in one EB, I'd say they are pretty compact.

Thanks again!
