help please

i was given these three cabbage plants. so i planted them didn know a thing about them.

now they are huge and was wondering when can i start taking leaves from it.

the person who gave them to my hubby said something about os cabbages.???? no clue never grew them before.

and how do i cook it???

Imzadi, Where have you been? Cabbage has long been a staple for most of the country. Actually 99.5% of folks will let their cabbage head up. If they want leaves they plant collards. If they are the OS Cross, Walmart was giving them away this year, they form huge heads. Cabbage can be used raw ( cole slaw) pickled (saurkraut) fried, steamed and boiled. There are variations for each of those preparation methods. In some parts of country, the outer part of the head is used to make cabbage rolls and stuffed cabbbge.

i dont eat cabbage and really neither does hubby except in cole slaw.


so i am learning what to do with it. its huge and i have three of them close together as person told hubby would be normal size. they are taking over my veggie box that has other stuff in it.

Cabbage rolls, fish tacos, stir fried veggies, fresh spring rolls, egg rolls, etc.
