Suggestion for good MINI plants

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

I have been looking around online and I know many of the things they sell as minis for terrariums can get MUCH larger then they should for a terrarium.

I like to use mini and micor mini sinningia, mini episcia and mini Avs (especially trailers) Does anyone have any other ideas?
Also do you know of good vendors to purchase such things?

pigmy sundews and the smaller tropical carnivorous plants - californiacarnivores is a possibility

miniature orchids - andysorchids is a possibility. It's good to get input from people who grow them before purchasing because some need night temp drops to bloom, some have long flower spikes etc.

begonias - I think you know.

I have horrible l uck with my orchids I have outside so I am a chicken when it comes to those LOL
Though I never thought of the carnivorous ones...they need to much water though..don't they?

some of the orchids are terrestrials and grow like AVs. Others grow like bromeliads. Some grow on cliffs and in cultivation grow like bromeliads....

some carnivorous plants (like some of the butterworts) grow on cliffs too.

And some gesneriads grow on cliffs and rocks.

These groups of plants are so diverse, there's usually something that will work.

Oh cool :) I will need to look into them further. I knew there were terrestrial orchids but my experience with carnivorous plants is limited.

yup, macodes, anoetochilus, ludisia.....

and I realize I wasn't too clear on the cliffs thing. The micro mini sinnigias, for example, grow in pockets of dirt on sheer cliffs in humid areas, and they do great in a terrarium. Epiphytes can be grown in the peat-mix of a terrarium too. How they grow in nature isn't always how they grow in cultivation. Basically anything that likes humidity and an airy and shallow root zone is a possibility.

Cool :) I am definitely going to do some research since I want to start more terrariums and I assumed there would be a learning curve to it :)
Where do you buy most of your plants? You seem to get such unusual varieties!

I have a huge order for sinningia with Daves

welll...... the hoyas come from a hoya grower, the orchids from online orchid sources, the gessies mostly from the Gesneriad Society...... you have to go to specialists for some of this stuff....
