I thought we were going to do just a hat robin and if we wanted to send extra seeds. I love to be in on the robins but sometime they get a little expensive for some of us.

Question: Are we committing to sending three packs of seeds or three plants, or are we just listing them to give the person who is making us a garden hat an idea of our likes/wants? That is, that they can choose to send any [one, two, all, none] plant/seed item we list?

Hi, ok hat is only must in this swap, seeds and plants only an idea for your partner if they want to or can include them. welcome cindilynn, start decorating your hat. it would be nice if everyone posted a picture of the hat they receive. thankyou carol

Hmmm...well, I haven't gone shopping for hats yet. I will see what inspiration comes my way once I see the hats. Not sure if I'm going for straw or cloth.

Where are all the people who asked for someone to do this swap?

i was just hesitant as i have 4 kids the latest being 16 months old. I never know when something's going to come up, i'd hate to dissapoint anyone with a late arrival. but i'll make this a priority!!!

Explain carefully to me the technical aspects of this (i.e. where do we get the person's name and is May 15th date to mail out or date by which your person has to have the box?), and I will join the hat/perennial exchange since I need a new garden hat. I am creative but a newbie to Dave's.

Nope, not yet. veeja be daring.

I have the decorations ready. The gardening hat has been ordered...finally decided on a "straw gardener's hat" -- have seen the style worn by staff at a local nursery and they were very cute and will protect you from the sun. Just waiting for it to arrive, then I'll decorate and send it on its way to makshi.

Haven't yet received from cindilynn.

Edit ... UPDATE: Still waiting for it to arrive. I have the decorations ready to put on it. Will let you know when it's been posted to makshi.

...so it took a few weeks to receive my order. And guess what was missing? The HAT!!! The packing slip says it will be in stock in August. Funny, the Web site implied it was in stock.

I will go hat shopping this weekend. I really have no idea where to buy straw gardener's hats as they don't carry them at my local nursery or Agri-shop. (I had checked in April, thus, I went online to buy one.) Should I go to Target, Fred Meyer, Walmart? I will probably have to change hat style, eh?

I do have some lovely handcrafted embellishments to put on it. I'm not sure if they will suit another style, but I will do my best.

Thanks for your continued patience, makshi. I am really feeling like I need to make it extra nice to make up for all this waiting!

Aha! I spied that bottle of craft glue behind Veeja3's hat. Had to laugh. Looks just like my desk.

I didn't get my hat yet but have heard from nessiegirl and she's on it.
