During the fall of 2004 I noticed red seed pods on a small vine climbing on a wire mesh fence. They were about the size of a golf ball! I never did notice the small vine up to then, I removed the seeds to start them in some small seed starters but they never did germinate. I was hoping to see the vine come up again, but it did not. Now in 2006 spring I found a small leave vine growing in the approximate location. Can you possible identify this specimen? Thanks for helping out

Hi pebble and fraxinus. Your posts gave me new info and I thank you for that. The ivy has just sprouted new stems and leaves. I am at the zone 7/zone 8 area, west of Fort Worth , Texas. Another post indicated that is more common further south and in the Hill Country of Texas. I wonder how this plant migrates. Possibly via undigested seeds which are excreted (along fence lines where birds sit).
